The HOLLOWTECH II crankset helps you convert more power into speed. It reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity. It also allows a wide range of gear combinations that leave nothing to be desired. HOLLOWTECH II - The concept of HOLLOWTECH II technology was aimed at producing an optimized crankset that minimizes the driver's effort for the drive. The high rigidity of the crankset ensures the efficiency of power transmission when pedaling, while its low weight relieves the strain on the rider, especially over longer distances. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimal ratio between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms manufactured using SHIMANO's exclusive forging technology to maintain maximum rigidity. In addition, the right crank of the HOLLOWTECH II set is firmly connected to the axis of the bottom bracket, which achieves an optimal balance between maximum rigidity and lowest weight. The externally mounted inner bearing offers better weight distribution and more stability, which ensures more efficient power transmission.
