Description

Unlike pawl freewheels, the two toothed discs of the freewheel system guarantee that all teeth are always fully engaged. With pawl freewheels, on the other hand, only one pawl can be engaged in the worst case. This puts extreme stress on hubs and freewheel bearings. Under heavy load (e.g. steep uphill), total failure is usually the result. Only high-quality, double-sealed industrial bearings with a special grease filling are used on our rear wheel hubs. The grease we use offers a 25% higher water absorption capacity and a very high bleeding temperature, which protects the bearings from premature wear and corrosion. The 17 mm oversize rear wheel axle is internally butted for weight reasons and ensures the best stiffness values. To prevent unwanted noise (especially with knife spokes), our J-Bend hubs can of course also be spoked without contact. The high tolerance accuracy of all components is perfectly rounded off by the TA-Caps. The TA-Caps (Tolerance Adjustment Caps) are used to compensate for all component and assembly tolerances and ensure long and smooth running of the bearings and hubs. Our rear hub is available with Shimano freewheel as well as with Sram XD freewheel. Made in Germany.
